Cool series of Spyro the Dragon games had to wait long for the news of resuming or even resuscitating this brand. Now, however, we have official confirmation – Spyro will be back this year in up to three remastered titles.
With the announcement that charming purple dragon will return to game consoles, the Internet flooded joy resulting primarily from a huge nostalgia for the many fans of the series. And I’m not surprised, because I belong to them! Spyro is my friend from the time when I was the owner of the first PlayStation. The premiere edition was released in 1998. It is not surprising then that so many fans were waiting for her great return.
All the more so because during the last years of remasters there were other games, whose original popularity was due to the Spyro splendor. You can mention even the recently renewed Crash or Shadow of the Colossus.
Below you can watch the trailer:
What first and foremost throws your eyes in this trailer is incredibly improved graphics and animation. In comparison, especially to the first part, it is a huge qualitative leap. In spite of everything, the creators have kept the cartoon, the somewhat caricatural character of the original, which, in my opinion, managed to combine the fanciful atmosphere with a modern setting quite effectively. The new version is also intended to improve control and many other technical aspects (including even the soundtrack).
On Spyro, Reignited Trilogy will consist, as the name suggests, three titles. These are the first three parts of the series: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro Year of the Dragon. Behind the remaster are the Toys for Bob studio under the wings of Activision. The game (and basically the game) will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 21 this year.
